Position Overview:
The Facility Systems Engineer will be responsible for creating specialized engineering designs and producing documentation such as drawings, specifications, and scope of work for the development and construction of new research and development laboratory facilities, installation of new processing equipment, and modifications to existing facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan modifications to facilities and layout of production equipment to enhance operational efficiency and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Review and estimate design costs, including equipment, installation, labor, and materials.
- Develop engineering criteria and performance specifications tailored to meet the unique operational requirements of process equipment and facility systems, while adhering to building safety codes.

Technical Leadership:
- Serve as the technical lead for the design, construction, commissioning, and operational acceptance testing of critical facility control systems.
- Integrate essential facility and life safety systems into the building management system (BMS) for improved operational visibility and monitoring.

Design and Maintenance:
- Lead the repair, maintenance, calibration, and spare parts management programs.
- Ensure that designs for new facilities and process tool installations reflect the latest standards and best practices in controls and instrumentation.

Collaboration:
- Coordinate with control vendors and Lam Engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Chemical, and Electrical) to ensure timely delivery and implementation of controls for infrastructure projects.
- Maintain control system infrastructure to accommodate future demands.

Documentation and Training:
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational reference and conduct training for facilities technicians and external service providers.
- Regularly update SOPs and provide refresher training sessions.

Risk Management:
- Attend and contribute to bi-weekly Site Incident Prevention Planning (SIPP) meetings, providing technical reviews and risk assessment analyses.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Controls, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry focused on facility controls and instrumentation.
- Candidates with a technical degree/certificate and 10 years of PLC programming experience in a continuous process or manufacturing environment will also be considered.

Desired Skills:
- Proven experience in developing industrial controls and facility designs, including hardware specifications and wiring diagrams for supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA).
- Proficiency in control system software development using PLC ladder logic, function block, structured text, and HMI programming, along with troubleshooting capabilities.

Additional Experience:
- Familiarity with the startup and commissioning of control hardware and software systems, including integration and instrumentation callouts.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware/software and ControlLogix PLC programming.

Networking and Protocols:
- Knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting networking devices and industrial protocols.
