Job Summary

As an Assistant Manager ICE Attractions, you will play a key role in planning and executing meetings and special events at Gaylord Hotels. You will assist in implementing departmental strategies and promote the execution of all property events with a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing meetings and special events, including researching and analyzing new products, pricing, and services of competition.
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Learn, operate, and train employees on software systems used in events such as ticketing, retail, inventory, space usage, etc.
  • Manage profitability by assisting in developing working relationships with outside vendors and establishing prices and service agreements to enhance the event experience and increase additional revenue opportunities for the property.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by creating an atmosphere in all event management operations areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
  • Manage and conduct human resources activities, including interviewing, selecting, and training employees, appraising employee productivity and efficiency, and monitoring employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality or a related major and 1 year of experience in a related field is also acceptable.
