Job OverviewAs a Medical Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and maintaining accurate records per State and Federal regulations. You will also assist in developing policies and procedures for medication administration and oversee the pharmacy. The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of nursing team, including medication services, admissions, and lab services.
  • Developing schedules for the nursing team and ensuring coverage when necessary to fill gaps.
  • Providing oversight of inventory, ordering, receiving, and accountability of medication/inventory control in conjunction with other pharmacy personnel as required by the DEA and state regulatory bodies.
  • Working with pharmacists on inventory control and balance verification.
  • E nsuring that the Diversion Control Plan is in place and enforced.
  • Collaborating with other leadership team members on DEA, State, and CARF inspections/surveys and preparation for inspections.
  • Administering and dispensing medication under the direction of a physician.
  • Ensuring the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is being followed.
  • Performing Mantoux Testing and interpreting results.
  • Making appointments for patients to see physicians, providing lab work, and referrals for additional follow-up care.
  • Assisting in training staff in medical and health and safety matters, as well as assisting in properly maintaining medical equipment.
  • Maintaining all medical records, including individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor's orders, etc., as required.
  • Maintaining contact with community medical personnel.
  • Assisting in the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.
  • Providing training for staff development specific to healthcare needs, i.e., CPR, First Aid, Blood Pressure, etc.
  • Purchasing and ordering medical supplies as needed.
  • Educating patients about methadone maintenance and detoxification, as well as side effects and educating patients on lab results and all medical matters.
  • Educating pregnant patients about prenatal care and assisting primary counselors in coordinating outside services as needed.
  • Discussing significant changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment with physicians and staff.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current LPN license within the state where facility is providing service. Current RN license preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years related nursing practice.
