We are seeking a highly skilled ACI Certified Engineering Technician to join our team at Intertek. As a key member of our Professional Services Industries Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team, you will be responsible for performing field inspections and construction materials testing to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., soil, concrete, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
- Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
- Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
- Operate a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
- Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
- ACI Concrete I Certification required.
- Some construction experience required.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and solid interpersonal skills required.
- Basic math, calculator, and computer skills required.
- The ability to read and understand work plans required.
- Ability to work off-shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds if needed. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
- Ability to climb occasionally.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections preferred.
