About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Construction Materials Testing / Engineering Technician to join our team at NOVA Engineering in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Review blueprints and prepare for field observations on construction sites.
  • Document field activities, observations, and testing results, and ensure conformance with project plans and specifications.
  • Utilize field and laboratory information management systems to record testing results.
  • Communicate testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients.
  • Calibrate field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
  • ACI certification is required.
  • NICET, ICC Soils, and experience in Aviation pavement are preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel out-of-town for short duration assignments.
