Position Overview:
As a Health & Safety Co-op at AMTB, you will play a vital role in promoting a culture of safety by assisting in the execution and upkeep of extensive environmental, health, and safety programs. This role offers a unique chance to gain practical experience in a dynamic manufacturing setting, enhance your technical abilities, and positively influence the safety and welfare of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation, execution, and oversight of EHS programs and policies to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Conduct risk evaluations and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and suggest corrective measures.
- Engage in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the formulation of corrective and preventive strategies.
- Support the rollout of safety training initiatives and workshops for employees and contractors.
- Help maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure effective chemical management practices.
- Assist in managing waste disposal, recycling initiatives, and other environmental sustainability efforts.
- Gather, analyze, and report EHS data to monitor performance metrics and identify improvement areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to safety-related projects and initiatives.
- Stay updated on the latest EHS trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure continuous enhancement of EHS programs.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Previous experience or coursework in EHS is advantageous.

- This position may involve occasional travel to other facilities or locations.
