- Security and Integrity: Implement and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of our database systems.
- Data Management: Organize and format data for efficient query and storage processes, and establish and maintain database user accounts.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze and optimize database performance, including index maintenance and monitoring of data.
- Database Life-Cycle Activities: Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure the highest level of system performance, availability, and compliance with business requirements.
- Server Administration: Provide server administration for a variety of database products, including Oracle, SQL Server, and SYBASE.
- Data Modeling: Support data modeling activities by developing prototype database implementations.
- Database Architecture: Direct the monitoring, administration, and implementation of database architecture changes, including performance optimization and database index maintenance.
- Database Tools and Technologies: Direct the administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologies.
- Experience: 12 years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or 4 years of additional database administration experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
- Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance.
- Oracle Experience: 5 years of experience installing and maintaining Oracle, including Oracle streams and distributed databases.
- Database Schema Development: 5 years of experience developing database schemas.
- LINUX Server Operating System Experience: Experience with installing and maintaining Oracle I lg, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and implementing backups strategies for databases.
