Position Overview:

The Community Outreach and Event Coordination Intern will collaborate closely with the marketing team to facilitate event communication and coordination efforts within the organization and the broader community. The role involves assisting in the planning and execution of various events throughout the year, including seminars, fundraisers, and community gatherings in partnership with local organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Planning Assistance: Support the planning and organization of events, including logistics and coordination of activities.
  • Logistics Management: Aid in managing event logistics such as volunteer staffing, vendor relations, and setup/breakdown of event spaces.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with staff, vendors, and community members to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, document preparation, and maintaining event records.
  • Promotional Outreach: Assist in creating and distributing promotional materials such as flyers and newsletters.
  • On-Site Event Support: Provide assistance during events, overseeing setup, managing volunteers, and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Community Engagement: Represent the organization at community events and help develop outreach strategies to connect with local members and organizations.
  • Post-Event Evaluation: Gather feedback and assist in preparing reports to assess the success of events.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in Event Management or related fields such as Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with digital event promotion tools and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various tasks in a dynamic work setting.
