Grounds Worker

Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a skilled Grounds Worker to join its team. As a Grounds Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to the WWRC Grounds Department by performing grounds maintenance, furniture moving, seasonal needs, outdoor trash collection, and working special events when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, and pruning trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Operate a variety of equipment, such as trucks weighing up to 2 tons, tractors, forklifts, mowers, and various hand and power tools.
- Assist with various services and minor repairs across various trade areas, such as housekeeping, carpentry, and painting.
- Repair and maintain ground shop equipment.
- Maintain radio contact with the office to receive service requests during regular working hours.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of all aspects of grounds care and maintenance.
- Knowledge of best practices in horticulture.
- Experience in Grounds maintenance activities.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Working Conditions:
This is a wage (part-time) position and will work on average 30-32 hours a week.
