Motor Technology, Inc. is a prominent provider of high-quality electro-mechanical repair services. We are currently seeking a skilled Electric Motor Technician I for our second shift operations. Our company has been a vital player in supporting national industries since 1981, specializing in the manufacture, service, and sale of industrial motors, controls, gearboxes, and related equipment.

Work Schedule: The position operates from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Employees on the second shift receive a 12% shift differential in addition to their hourly wage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review job cards to assess job status, authorizations, and expected serviceability.
  • Conduct tests on electromechanical equipment to diagnose known or suspected issues using various methods (AC or DC).
  • Disassemble electromechanical devices, documenting parts identification and condition.
  • Perform cleaning of electromechanical assemblies using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Measure and ensure proper placement of components, and requisition necessary parts.
  • Repair or replace worn or defective mechanical and electromechanical components.
  • Retest reassembled equipment to verify proper functionality.
  • Accurately complete required documentation in the computer system for each task.
  • Utilize specialized repair and testing equipment as necessary.
  • Safely lift and secure heavy items using forklifts or overhead cranes.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective gear.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to understand and follow operational and safety procedures
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Must provide own tools and toolbox
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to be on call one weekend every five weeks
