Position Overview

The role of Senior Production Engineer is pivotal within our organization, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency across various production and injection processes. This position entails collaborating with multiple teams to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Operations, Workover Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Facilities, Land, Geoscience, and Planning teams to execute effective well repair and optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor production and injection metrics to pinpoint opportunities for performance enhancement.
  • Assess well repair alternatives, evaluate costs, success probabilities, and projected production to determine the economic viability for expenditure approvals.
  • Partner with Operations and Facilities teams to identify and recommend projects aimed at cost reduction and reliability improvements.
  • Identify wells with frequent failures and implement strategies to enhance their operational lifespan.
  • Work alongside Reservoir Engineering and Geoscience teams to explore opportunities for production enhancement.
  • Design, install, troubleshoot, and optimize artificial lift systems for both new and existing wells.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on artificial lift systems and propose solutions to minimize downtime and operational costs.
  • Coordinate with Land and Operations teams to maintain lease agreements and ensure timely execution of necessary work.
  • Provide economic justifications for automation initiatives aimed at improving surveillance of production and injection activities.
  • Ensure wellbore integrity and perform risk assessments on operated offset wells in response to potential operational conflicts.
  • Engage with partners as necessary and contribute to partner evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain surveillance data sets and tools essential for optimizing production workflows.
  • Construct and refine nodal analysis models to maximize well performance within operational constraints.
  • Educate Engineering and Operations personnel on surveillance and optimization methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution with strong academic performance.
  • Experience in upstream energy operations, particularly in production engineering within the Permian Basin.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and various E&P software tools.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets for surveillance applications.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Proven track record of making informed decisions in complex scenarios.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and mentor colleagues effectively.
