Overview of the Role:

The Maintenance Plumber is responsible for the assembly, installation, and repair of piping systems, fittings, and fixtures associated with heating, water, and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures in accordance with plumbing codes and specifications.

• Analyze building plans and working drawings to determine necessary tools and installation sequence.

• Inspect structures to identify potential obstructions that may compromise the integrity of the installation.

• Mark and locate pipe positions and passage holes using measuring tools.

• Create openings for pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.

• Cut and thread pipes using appropriate tools and machinery.

• Bend pipes to specified angles using bending machines or manual techniques.

• Install valves and fittings made from various materials using hand and power tools.

• Connect pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and caulking.

• Test pipe systems for leaks by filling with water or air and monitoring pressure gauges.

• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, and water heaters.

• Maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, repairing leaks, and clearing blockages.

• Perform welding on fixtures as needed and conduct backflow prevention tests.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

• Ensure proper use of plumbing tools and equipment.

• Complete all required training as mandated by management.

• Deliver timely and cost-effective results.

• Maintain accuracy in all departmental tasks.

• Interact professionally with diverse individuals in various situations.

• Adhere to company safety policies and practices.

• Comply with established Standard Operating Procedures and personnel policies.

• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of four years of plumbing experience.

• Familiarity with pumps, pressure controls, and water systems.

• Possession of necessary hand tools for plumbing tasks.

• Certification in backflow prevention testing.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to meet physical and security requirements as needed.

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork.

• Ability to pass background checks and drug testing as required.

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Compensation:

$37.24/hour (Union position)
