Primary Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of a School Principal, the Educational Support Specialist is responsible for assisting administrators, educators, and students by providing high-quality instructional support to all students on the tutoring roster. This role involves regular collaboration with classroom teachers to ensure the effectiveness of service delivery and instructional strategies, while also overseeing the implementation of positive behavior management plans within the educational environment.
Essential Functions:
- Coach educators on effective teaching methodologies and maintain ongoing consultations with instructional staff to monitor student progress.
- Facilitate, lead, and oversee all Building Leadership Team (BLT), Professional Learning Community (PLC), and Teacher-Based Team (TBT) meetings in collaboration with the Principal and Superintendent.
- Assist classroom teachers and instructional staff in understanding and analyzing student performance data.
- Participate in board meetings to support the Principal in reporting and monitoring student performance metrics.
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring for students in grades K-8 who qualify for Title services in subjects such as mathematics and reading.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and student work samples, providing them to the Principal or Superintendent as needed.
- Create and manage a comprehensive tutoring schedule, ensuring consistent meetings with students as per the established timetable.
- Submit detailed lesson plans to the Principal and Superintendent as required.
- Deliver high-quality instruction to all students on the tutoring roster and engage regularly with classroom teachers to align tutoring content with classroom lessons.
- Report student progress weekly to classroom teachers and the Principal, as well as to parents upon request.
- Ensure consistency between classroom instruction and tutoring by maintaining open communication with classroom teachers and utilizing provided curriculum maps.
- Provide student progress reports at each grading interval, including interim reports and report card periods, to classroom teachers.
- Assist with testing accommodations for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), or 504 Plans as needed.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Profile:
Certification/License:
Active Ohio Teaching License is required, with a preference for licensure in the appropriate grade level. A valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License or the ability to provide personal transportation is also necessary.
Education:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Elementary Education or a related field is required, with a Master's degree in a relevant area preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of four years of successful teaching experience at the appropriate grade levels is preferred.
