Intern - Process Engineer (Life Sciences)

The Life Sciences team at GBA is seeking a student to join their team for a summer internship in one of our headquarters locations. As a member of our integrated team of architects, engineers, and specialists, you will work on project assignments including pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing facilities, industrial warehouses, research and office facilities, clean rooms, R&D/QA labs, and pilot plants.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mass and energy balances, and heating, cooling, and flow calculations
  • Conduct research and provide assistance to develop equipment and instrumentation specifications
  • Interact with vendors to specify, select, and develop procurement details for equipment and instrumentation
  • Develop draft User Requirement Specifications
  • Prepare equipment spec sheets
  • Develop draft Flow Diagrams and P&IDs
  • Observe construction projects to ensure designs are met
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Must have completed at least 3 years of collegiate education
  • Interest in working in a collaborative team environment
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
  • Previous internships are a plus
