Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer II plays a crucial role in researching, planning, designing, and developing the mechanical aspects of products for use in the Aerospace or Electronics marketplace. This position involves working on new product designs, modernization, and upgrades, as well as performing extensive analyses to ensure cost, quality, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve product performance and cost targets, ensuring quality and manufacturability in the design.
  • Support continuous process improvement activities, including Kaizen and 5S practices, to maintain an organized and efficient working environment.
  • Develop and maintain technical reports, presentations, and analyses, demonstrating proficiency in verbal and written English.
  • Understand, decompose, and define product and process requirements to support product development, sustaining, and R&D.
  • Plan, estimate, prioritize, and manage work activities to meet project schedules and budgets.
  • Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, producing thorough and accurate design and development work that meets customer specifications and company requirements.
  • Apply proficient problem-solving processes, documentation, tools, and analyses to quickly identify root causes and corrective actions for technical challenges and issues.
  • Generate and review product development documentation, including proposals, technical reports, procedures, and correspondence, to satisfy customer and program requirements.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
  • Provide support for IPT activities in collaboration with other technical, operations, quality, and business disciplines.
Requirements
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • BA or BS Degree in an engineering discipline; Masters or PhD preferred.
  • Knowledge of analog circuit design, digital circuit design, micro-electronics design, high power circuit design, VHDL design, ASIC design, hardware/software integration, magnetics design, and experience with various switching power supply topologies.
  • Familiarity with DO-254 development processes and DO-160 requirements.
  • Design for EMC and lightning.
  • Analysis and modeling.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment.
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other required PPE.
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions, such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
  • Occasional travel to customer and outside test lab facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product testing support, and to attend technical seminars.
  • May need to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
