We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team as a School-Based Medical Assistant Float. This role will provide float coverage within our School-Based sites, assisting with the coordination and management of primary health services.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently schedule and register patients for clinic visits, including insurance verification and eligibility.
- Monitor and maintain assigned registration work queues daily.
- Foster positive relationships with site and community-based partners, informing them of clinic services.
- Evaluate patient needs and provide access to services via school-based patient registries.
- Assist providers in setting up for procedures, including aseptic and sterile techniques, and provide safe administration of medications and immunizations.
- Take vital signs and basic historical patient data, identifying abnormal patient findings and communicating patient concerns to providers.
- Prepare patients for examinations, assist with examinations, and perform minor procedures within their scope of knowledge.
- Assist with clerical tasks, including referrals, appointment scheduling, and faxing medical information.
- Maintain patient medical records and other information.
- Post-high school diploma or certificate program in Medical Office Assisting or a related field.
- Completion of a 160-hour externship or six months of direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Colorado Driver's License Class R.
- One year of experience working in school-age student services.
- Competitive hourly rate of $29.53.
