POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing administrative and clerical support to ensure that patients are efficiently scheduled, registered, and prepared to receive the necessary care in a welcoming and timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to incoming calls with exemplary customer service skills.
  • Schedule patient appointments according to established protocols, utilizing nurse triage when appropriate.
  • Accurately scan and upload relevant documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Collaborate closely with various practices to ensure that all data is organized and accessible within the EMR.
  • Provide directory assistance to both internal and external inquiries.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all departments and services offered within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record systems.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Punctuality and adherence to scheduled work hours.
  • Ability to meet productivity standards consistently.
  • Knowledge of office policies and procedures.
  • Capability to manage emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Strong decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and maintain accurate records.
