  • Mentors hospital leadership and staff in the application of process improvement tools, including A3 problem-solving and value stream mapping.
  • Models effective communication practices, contributing to improved employee engagement scores.
Service Excellence:
  • Designs and delivers comprehensive training related to the Houston Methodist Business System, promoting a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Guides team members in utilizing structured methodologies for data-driven decision-making and supports the implementation of process enhancements.
  • Leads teams independently and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration within targeted service areas.
Quality and Safety:
  • Establishes clinical standard work instructions during problem-solving initiatives, ensuring alignment with quality and safety standards.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, process engineering, applied sciences, or a related field, or in healthcare/business administration with Lean management or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of seven years in quality engineering or process improvement, with a preference for candidates with experience in a healthcare setting.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Demonstrates the necessary skills and competencies to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
