About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead our production operations and drive business growth. As an Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our production department, ensuring timely delivery of products, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain close surveillance over operations through reports, staff meetings, observation, and personal contact to ensure coordination and integration of workflow.
  • Provide recommendations for and assist in developing, establishing, and implementing long-range and short-term plans and operative policies where manufacturing is involved.
  • Act as liaison between management and supervisory levels to keep personnel informed on matters of communications, discussions, and policies.
  • Review travelers, directives, and other work instructions, including safety.
  • Review departmental labor, scrap, and indirect material cost performance versus established goals; assist in establishing departmental performance.
  • Follow and provide directions consistent with documented procedures.
  • Ensure assigned staff is performing on work orders in a priority to meet the schedule.
  • Conduct applicable training and ensure the staff is trained properly.
  • Track the progress of all work orders and provide weekly progress updates regarding the delivery status.
  • Monitor employee activity to ensure all safety and other plant policies are followed, including proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate any and all issues that may affect the schedule or cost.
  • Ensure system counts and receipts are being performed as required.
  • Interface with other company personnel regarding scheduling and problem solutions.
  • Work with Engineering wherein a production process improvement can be made.
  • Participate in product planning efforts to ensure Production capabilities and capacities commensurate with current workload and future workload.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain time and attendance for assigned personnel and verify the accuracy of reporting hours worked.
  • Support the quality management system in the performance of duties.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to hire, train, evaluate, or discharge staff.
  • Perform safety walks throughout assigned areas and collaborate with the Safety Officer to make any necessary corrections.
  • Operate equipment to meet schedule demands, as needed.
  • Prepare an annual budget and monitor expenses.
  • Attend meetings when required or assigned.
  • Track ablative panels.
  • Attend training sessions when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Possesses knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Familiarity with raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effectiveness.
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Able to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Able to monitor/assess the performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Able to talk to others to convey information effectively.
Estimated Salary:

$96,300 - $116,400 per year, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the region.
