Purchasing Buyer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Buyer to join our team at Kravet Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our company's procurement activities, including fabrics, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to meet our operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchasing Strategies: Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings and improve efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Source and evaluate vendors based on quality, price, and delivery speed, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs, manage and ensure all raw material receivers are processed, and monitor inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Procurement Process: Oversee the procurement process from order placement to delivery, manage relationships with key suppliers, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Financial Management: Net incoming orders and correct exceptions, process inventory usage, including cycle counts and adjustments, disposal reports, WIP movements, and inactive inventory reports, and manage payable vendors and 3-way matching.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in the furniture industry, preferably as a Sr. Purchasing Buyer.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to operate in a matrix environment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Organizational Relationship:

The Purchasing Buyer will report to the VP of Operations at Kravet Inc. and will have multiple direct reports.

Travel Requirements:

Less than 5% travel required.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and climb to maintain equipment.
