The Opportunity
We are seeking a Clinical Specialist III to join our team. As a member of our sales territory team, you will work in a highly matrixed environment with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with Abbott therapies among physicians, support staff, and customers.
Responsibilities
This role involves leading revenue-generating projects to support account ownership, developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts and customers, demonstrating high-quality service and clinical competency to accounts, delivering educational projects as directed, training new Clinical Specialists, providing technical, clinical, and programming assistance primarily in support of Territory Managers, assisting Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities, integrating into accounts, building trust, and establishing strong rapport with customers, demonstrating proficiency in complex programming and case support, working seamlessly with Territory Managers allowing them increased selling time, fostering high-trust relationships with colleagues, including regional teams and area leadership, contacting, visiting, and interesting clients and potential clients in the company's products while addressing any client questions and concerns, providing medical professionals with sales support, information, and training on the use of company products and with staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting, conducting evaluations and developing sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities within accounts, collecting and studying information about new and existing products and monitoring competitor sales, prices, and products, providing feedback to providers both within operating room settings and outside operating room settings on the directions for use specific to implantable devices, using clinical expertise to identify customer training and in-service needs with the goal of increasing customer usage, comfort, and understanding of the complete product line, attending trade shows where new products and technologies are showcased, meeting other sales representatives and clients to discuss new product developments, complying with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments, and maintaining positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need an Associate degree, Technical certification or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, 5 or more years of experience working with patients in a clinical setting, 3 or more years of experience working in the medical devices industry, including some experience with inventory management, exceptional clinical competence, ability and willingness to travel within assigned areas on a regular basis (% of travel varies by area), capable and willing to work an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice, excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels and to large groups within and outside the organization.
Compensation
The estimated salary range for this position is $72,700 - $145,300 per year, depending on location.
