About the Role

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Engineer Intern to join our Nuclear Services and Technology group in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As a Process Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, gain technical experience, and develop your skills in process engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop process engineering solutions
  • Work on actual projects for our clients, including P&ID drawings, process simulation, and engineering calculations
  • Interface with clients and contractors to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and maintain process engineering documentation and reports
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures
Requirements
  • Pursuing an engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program
  • Currently enrolled and entering senior year of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles and calculations
  • U.S. Citizenship required for client projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to PFD and P&ID drawing
  • Local candidates strongly preferred
