Role Responsibilities:
The Pharmacy Operations Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of pharmacy activities and the supervision of staff in their professional duties. This role includes ensuring the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services and medical supplies to clients and patients in compliance with established regulations and standards.
- Oversee pharmacy operations to guarantee efficient service delivery.
- Exhibit knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards, along with current State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Manage compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Ensure all pharmacy practices adhere to licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Accurately prepare prescriptions and medications in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient, medication, and disease information to identify potential drug-related issues.
- Revise and maintain patient care plans as necessary.
- Prepare formulations for medications and supervise the work of pharmacy staff.
- Participate in the management of controlled substances.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and referral sources as needed.
- Serve as a resource for drug information to the sales team and support sales initiatives.
- Participate in the on-call schedule for pharmacists and provide coverage as required.
- Handle managerial tasks for direct reports, including recruitment, training, performance management, and payroll approval.
- Engage in strategic planning and conflict resolution within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
- Standard Business Hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- On-call availability as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience in specialty pharmacy or home infusion preferred.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree required.
- Current state licensure in good standing.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as a pharmacist, with a focus on compounding.
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
