Position Overview

As a key member of Novanta's ATI Industrial Automation division, you will play a crucial role in managing our Force Torque sensor product lines. This position is ideal for individuals with a solid engineering background and a keen interest in robotics and automation.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product managers to create Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
  • Design and implement application use case test plans for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
  • Develop technical training materials for field application engineers and clients.
  • Serve as the primary technical support contact for key strategic OEM customers.
  • Work alongside Product Managers to identify and develop innovative applications that deliver significant value to customers.
  • Prepare product demonstrations using robotic systems and presentations for trade shows, conferences, and customer engagements.
  • Create marketing content, including competitive analyses, videos, and application notes.
  • Assist in executing 80/20 and End of Life strategies for product management.
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert in product and application knowledge for field engineers and select strategic clients.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to foster product and process innovation.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Controls, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering capacity, preferably within the automation sector.
  • A strong grasp of mechanical systems and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with robot programming (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Kuka) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and the MS Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
Physical Requirements

This role may require:

  • Standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Using hands for various tasks and effective communication.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 50 pounds.
