Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Infrastructure Services to join our team at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and direction of technology initiatives in support of our academic and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of our infrastructure team to ensure timely and accurate resolution of technical issues.
  • Perform hands-on technical tasks as necessary to augment the staff in critical areas and ensure the highest level of service possible.
  • Work closely with IT Department staff members to identify quality issues and implement improvements related to technical operations.
  • Serve as a project manager for large infrastructure-related projects within the IT Department.
  • Manage staff effectively to distribute workload evenly and assign high-priority tasks.
  • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues with infrastructure systems.
  • Implement and maintain hardware/software tools as necessary to perform daily technical operations for the university.
  • Assist in the development of university policies, procedures, and best practices related to the services provided by the Information Technology Department.
  • Enforce change control processes to minimize production downtime.
  • Coordinate the distribution of technology-related information to the university community.
  • Perform routine audits to ensure staff compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in meetings or serve as a task force/committee member for initiatives related to the technical infrastructure of the university.
  • Provide regular status reports to IT Department management on all projects and daily operational issues.
  • Work with the CIO to develop annual budget requests necessary to maintain high levels of efficiency in technical operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in a position performing similar duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in an Information Technology related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, MCSE, ITIL, or CSSBB.
  • Experience working in a university setting.
  • Prior experience with establishing and maintaining a large project budget.
