Position Summary
We are seeking a Lead Business Solutions Analyst who will deliver strategic guidance, expertise, and leadership to both business and IT teams in the execution and support of various programs and projects. This role encompasses the assessment of solutions, analysis and documentation of requirements, development of system specifications, configuration and testing of solutions, and deployment to the organization. The analyst will define and articulate systems scope and objectives based on end-user needs and a comprehensive understanding of business systems, applications, and industry standards. Acts as a bridge between technical staff, project managers, and relevant end-user departments. Evaluates and translates end-user needs and challenges to technical teams and/or vendors as necessary. Possesses an understanding of the business ramifications of technical solutions and aids in defining and documenting technology solutions to accommodate future business requirements. Educates end users on new technologies and enhancements through appropriate communication channels while also providing support for existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- May oversee a team of business analysts engaged in one or multiple projects; offers hands-on assistance to analysts as needed.
- Collaborates with project/program managers on strategic planning for gathering business requirements and analyzing business processes.
- Conducts business process evaluations, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align IT solutions with business and functional needs.
- Engages with end users, system integrators, and vendors to identify and analyze issues, aligning the most suitable technical, application, or configuration solutions.
- Solicits, develops, documents, and manages requirements, providing detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Considers the business implications of applying technology to current and future business environments.
- Reviews system test plans and modules prior to implementation, providing use cases for testing and managing the user acceptance testing process.
- Creates, reviews, and delivers end-user documentation (user guides, process flow diagrams, training materials) and training sessions.
- Ensures documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project.
- Provides insights on processes, procedures, and configuration modifications.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8-10 years of experience in supporting business requirements gathering and business process analysis for enterprise-wide software initiatives.
- 3-5 years of experience leading business analysis teams.
- Strong understanding of best practice business analysis processes and artifacts.
- Ability to comprehend and anticipate the implications of decisions.
- Exceptional capability to guide diverse business users towards decisions on standardizing processes and product configurations.
- Solid experience collaborating with software vendors and system integrators, particularly in cloud software solutions.
- Ability to analyze and categorize issues within the context of organizational and functional objectives.
- Demonstrable project management experience.
- Extensive experience transitioning end users from manual to automated processes.
Problem Solving:
- Utilizes research, gathering, analytical, and interpretative skills to address problems of varied scope.
- Employs analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations/problems using multiple information sources.
- Articulates problem analysis and proposed solutions in a logical and innovative manner.
- Facilitates the development of new procedures and processes to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manages a diverse range of issues requiring evaluation of various factors.
Guidance:
- Operates with minimal supervision.
- Work is directed by the project/program manager in alignment with operational and project objectives.
- Independently determines the business analysis approach for large programs/projects.
- Collaborates effectively with the project/program manager.
- Proactively identifies and mitigates potential issues.
- Independently formulates solutions that are comprehensive, practical, and aligned with functional or customer objectives.
- Responsible for specific programs, customers, and/or projects.
- Provides technical guidance or influences the work of others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday or Oracle cloud.
- Prior consulting experience.
