Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily care of dogs, including feeding, grooming, and exercising in a group setting.
  • Ensure a safe and enriching environment for all dogs in our care.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
  • Engage in socialization activities to minimize stress for the dogs.
  • Assist with basic health care and administer medications as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all canine care areas.
  • Support the assessment and placement of dogs transitioning from training.
  • Evaluate incoming dogs to ensure suitability for training programs.
  • Train new staff and volunteers on canine care protocols.
  • Assist clients with techniques for caring for their guide dogs.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
  • Support veterinary care and follow-up for dogs requiring special attention.
  • Participate in various canine activities, including park visits and medication management.
  • Transport dogs as necessary for veterinary appointments.
  • May assist in breeding and puppy care tasks.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in dog care or related fields is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong affinity for animals and commitment to humane treatment.
  • Ability to adapt to varying shifts and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent judgment and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable working with large dogs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with the public.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include the ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 80 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
