Job Overview

Abnormal Security is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to spearhead the Cellular Architecture team. This team plays a crucial role in achieving Abnormal Security's strategic vision of transitioning their cloud infrastructure to a Cellular-based Architecture. This ambitious initiative is designed to support the rapid growth of the organization while enhancing the scalability and reliability of our product offerings.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading this initiative, collaborating across various teams, developing execution strategies, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Ability to tackle complex and ambiguous business challenges, exploring potential solutions, formulating execution plans, and coordinating delivery across multiple teams.
  • Proven reliability and autonomy, with a history of technical leadership.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a readiness to seek assistance when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design the cloud architecture for Abnormal Security on AWS (including regions, accounts, key tools, and roles) to facilitate the transition to a Cell-based Architecture.
  • Establish the architecture for Abnormal Security's data systems to align with the Cell-based framework.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of product workflows and recommend appropriate trade-offs for the transition.
  • Serve as the technical lead for the team, owning the quarterly roadmap to set, execute, and deliver on objectives.
Essential Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in developing large-scale distributed cloud systems and architectures, preferably on AWS.
  • Demonstrated success in defining and driving engineering initiatives that require cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience in creating platforms, tools, and systems that meet the needs of engineering teams, enabling them to deliver with speed and reliability.
  • Familiarity with or interest in Abnormal Security's technology stack: Python, Golang, Terraform/Terragrunt, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch, AWS, Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing complex AI/ML applications at scale.
  • Experience in scaling a product stack from a single region to multiple regions on a commercial cloud platform.

Base salary range: $209,800—$246,800 USD
