Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic and advanced therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Assemble, check, and correct malfunctions of respiratory care equipment, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety.
- Initiate, maintain, and discontinue mechanical ventilation for patients, as ordered by physicians.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and education.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance departmental and hospital-wide performance.
- Registry eligibility according to the National Board for Respiratory Care, with registration requirements met within one year of employment.
- Licensure by the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Registered (LRTR), or equivalent licensure in the state where services will be performed.
- Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire, with additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) required based on local hospital requirements.
- Two years of experience in a hospital setting, with a focus on respiratory therapy.
The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and lifting, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
