\t* Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care
\t* Conducting initial and ongoing assessment of the patient and family
\t* Patient care may include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stage
\t* Assists with amniocentesis, versions, vaginal deliveries, vacuum extractions, forceps deliveries and circulate for cesarean sections
\t* Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
\t* Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
\t* Relies on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
\t* Performs a variety of tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
\t* Other duties as assigned

\t* Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited RN program. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
\t* Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
\t* American Heart Association approved course in Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
\t* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation program (NRP) required within 90 days of hire.
\t* Completion of AWHONN's Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring course
\t* Minimum of two (2) years of Labor & Delivery experience with the ability to independently circulate for cesarean deliveries without assistance
\t* Ability to circulate as needed
