Position Overview

The Information Technology Specialist I (ITS-I) operates under the guidance of the Information Technology Manager I within the Technology Services Division's Technical Operations and Support Office. This role is essential in providing software development support for the California Department of Education's ServiceNow applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead software developer and subject matter expert for ServiceNow development initiatives.
  • Design and implement ServiceNow workflow solutions utilizing the platform's toolset, including Developer Studio and Flow Designer.
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance and automate software processes, encompassing development, integration, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Create and launch new ServiceNow application modules, workflows, and enhancements tailored to meet business requirements.
  • Address and resolve defects, ensuring the functionality of existing and new ServiceNow applications.
  • Facilitate collaborative sessions with technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and priorities.
  • Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress and deliverables.
  • Develop ServiceNow applications based on user stories and requirements, ensuring clarity with program owners and stakeholders.
