Job Summary:

The Area Educator II is a key role at Lincoln University, responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative youth development programs. This position requires a strong understanding of the needs of limited resource and socially disadvantaged youth, as well as the ability to work effectively with schools, community-based organizations, and 4-H groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs aligned with the Lincoln University State Extension Plan of Work, focusing on areas such as healthy lifestyles, leadership development, STEAM education, social justice, academic achievement, and workforce readiness.
  • Work in partnership with schools and other youth-serving organizations to deliver programs that address specific needs of limited resource and socially disadvantaged youth.
  • Meet deadlines by submitting reports accurately and on time, and write grant proposals to secure extramural funding.
  • Supervise volunteers, students, and program participants as needed, and perform other duties assigned by the Regional Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human development, youth development, child and family development, social work, family science, psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with low-income, ethnically diverse individuals from marginalized communities in informal settings.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, speak, and understand Spanish.
  • Demonstrated success in securing extramural resources through donations, gifts, and grant funds.
  • Experience conducting educational sessions via distance learning and on virtual platforms, and teaching and developing audience contacts with social media.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods, occasionally lift, carry, and put away parcels, and have normal mobility and physical agility.
