Associate, Industry Specialty Services Expert

Job Summary:
An experienced professional in the Industry Specialty Services Group provides expert services to tax-exempt organizations, state and local governments, and higher education institutions. This role offers a unique opportunity for a mission-oriented professional to leverage their compliance and financial management expertise to support these organizations across various mission areas and geographic reach.
The team is a growth-oriented management consulting practice dedicated to building the capacity of organizations. We partner with organizations to help them attain operational excellence, ensure financial sustainability, and effectively achieve their desired impact. Our collaborative approach includes client input and involvement at each stage of an engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver complex consulting services to tax-exempt organizations, state and local organizations, and higher education institutions, including compliance assessments and policy development.
- Support the development of client policies and procedures related to accounting, contracts, and pricing, often in accordance with US Government rules and regulations.
- Support planning and analysis projects, including multi-year financial models, budget development, and cash flow planning.
- Assist in the design and analysis of direct and indirect cost rate structures.
- Aid in the drafting, revising, and formatting of client reports, presentations, memos, and correspondence.
- Support leadership teams in making financial decisions, including presenting analysis and findings and effectively communicating complicated financial information to various audiences.
Project Management:
- Support client engagements and relationships with multiple stakeholders, client staff, and internal team members.
Practice and Service Development:
- Assist in the expansion and development of services for tax-exempt organizations, including monthly meetings and other areas of service development.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting, required.
- MBA or MPA, preferred.
Experience:
- One (1) or more years of demonstrated experience in tax-exempt organizations (Nonprofit, State & Local or Higher Ed) or one (1) year in financial management or consulting, required.
Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
- Experience with grants management, CRM, accounting, or other related nonprofit software, preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings to various audiences.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with US Government rules and regulations related to accounting, contracts, and pricing.
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
