GENERAL SUMMARY
The Youth Support Specialist is responsible for the direct oversight of residents within the Plummer Residential Youth Programs during assigned shifts. This role is crucial to the treatment team, engaging with residents daily to support them in reaching their established treatment objectives. This is a part-time position with eligibility for employer-sponsored medical and dental benefits. Shifts are scheduled for weekends.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with residents and their families by applying Youth-Guided, Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed, and Family-Driven approaches.
  • Provide direct supervision for residents in the Plummer Residential Programs.
  • Utilize the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Model to effectively engage with residents.
  • Implement Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques to ensure a safe environment.
  • Document interventions and progress in Daily Progress Notes using the APRICOT system.
  • Complete shift entries in the daily Communication log at the end of each shift.
  • Assist with meal preparation and contribute to weekly menu planning.
  • Administer medications in accordance with established policies.
  • Facilitate youth engagement through the PAYA curriculum.
  • Provide transportation for residents to appointments and activities.
  • Support residents with weekly grocery shopping.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the program environment.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Adapt to the needs of the overall environment, including schedule adjustments as necessary.
  • Attend supervision, training sessions, and any meetings as required by the Program Director or their designee.
  • Address concerns and incidents with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager or their designee.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Participate actively in all monthly staff meetings.
  • Engage in scheduled supervision sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS
