Prairie Heights Church is seeking:
A dedicated leader who is enthusiastic about engaging youth in their spiritual journey and facilitating their growth in faith. A developer of volunteer teams, skilled in inspiring both youth and adults to deepen their commitment as followers of Christ and leaders. A person who is adept at addressing real-life challenges with honesty and compassion for young people. An individual capable of empowering others to lead in a similar manner.
A compassionate individual who forges meaningful connections with students from 6th to 12th grade, balancing cultural relevance on stage with strong personal relationships. A connector who can enjoy unique experiences, engage in fun activities, tackle challenging discussions, and pray fervently for transformative changes in students' lives – all in a single evening.
Key Responsibilities:
Oxygen/Student Ministries (6th grade-12th grade):
- Articulate, communicate, and execute the vision for Student Ministry.
- Recruit, lead, empower, and equip volunteer teams to guide students in small group settings.
- Collaborate with local middle and high schools to establish connections with school leaders, educators, coaches, and students in the community.
- Serve as the "Campus Pastor" for Middle and High School students by designing, preparing, and leading mid-week student programming with excellence.
- Innovate ways to remain relevant with students through messages, programming, and events.
- Create opportunities for students to take ownership of the mission through volunteerism.
- Ensure environments are safe, engaging, and suitable for planned activities.
- Oversee the safety and security of minors (background checks, policies and procedures, incident reports) and crisis management.
- Engage with parents and students to ensure they feel valued and supported.
Pastoral Care:
- Participate in pastoral responsibilities including weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and after-hours care, focusing on families and individuals connected through Oxygen.
Required Qualifications:
- Committed Follower of Jesus
- Called to ministry, particularly pastoral
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Middle or High School Students (church, school, work)
- At least 2 years of communication experience, specifically with student audiences
- Proven track record of building, leading, motivating, and growing effective teams
- Demonstrated experience in developing a vision, setting goals, and measuring growth
- Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Commitment to emotional health and self-care in all areas of life
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ordained pastor or on a pastoral track
- Experience leading in a large church or organization (1,000+)
- Background in pastoral or non-profit work including care, teaching, spiritual direction, and mentorship
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in a multi-site church environment
- Experience in recruiting, training, and leading large volunteer teams
