Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Washington, DC area.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 1+ years of special education experience. The ideal candidate will be certified in DC or surrounding states and possess excellent collaboration and dependability skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with varying abilities
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to create a supportive learning environment
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to inform instruction
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and staff
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • DC Special Education License or equivalent out-of-state certification
  • 2+ years of experience working with students with diverse needs
Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will have access to professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.

A caseload of approximately 8-12 students, aged 3-22, with 4-7 paraprofessionals in the classroom provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development.
