Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Joint Doctrine Policy Analyst to provide on-site support to the Joint Staff, J-7, Joint Doctrine Branch (JDB). As SAIC's onsite representative, the analyst will work closely with Joint Staff action officers to plan and execute the JDB mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) force development and readiness pillars by contributing to the development of joint doctrine for the United States Armed Forces.
  • Operate independently, yet integrate quickly and smoothly into a mature, diverse team of senior military officers and government civilians.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for various organizational processes, meetings, and conferences organized by military and government employees.
  • Maintain the Joint Doctrine Development and Assessment Schedule (JDDAS) and manage JDDAS milestones to promote an even and efficient workflow for the action officers and the broader Joint Doctrine Development Community (JDDC).
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the status of joint publications under development.
  • Manage Joint Working Groups (JWGs) at SAIC's Arlington, VA facilities.
  • Identify customer priorities for SAIC editorial work and transmit those priorities to editors.
  • Track and report progress of individual publications, in coordination with the editorial team.
  • Provide helpdesk support for the Joint Doctrine Development Tool.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of DoD experience.
  • Experience developing or knowledge of joint or service doctrine or in the development and promulgation of joint or service policy and plans at the strategic or operational levels.
  • Experience on the Joint Staff, a combatant command, or Service Command Staff.
  • Familiarity with the Task Management Tool (TMT) System.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
