We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a faculty position in Health Education at Alabama A&M University. As a member of our academic team, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of future healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver a variety of health and health education courses, including biomechanics of exercise, exercise physiology, and materials & methods in physical education.
- Student Advising and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to students, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.
- Research and Scholarship: Conduct research in physical education or related areas, with a focus on publishing scholarly articles and securing external funding.
- Service and Community Engagement: Participate in departmental, college, and university committees, as well as engage in professional service to the university, community, and profession.
- Educational Background: Earned doctorate in Health Education or a related field.
- Teaching Experience: At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in higher education.
- Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment, with a documented commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
- Research and Grant Writing: Evidence of research and grant writing experience.
- Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in teaching with the use of technology in the classroom.
- Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to provide positive team-oriented interaction with colleagues and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.
