Maintenance Technician at Yates Industries

Location: Austell, GA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, manage, and implement production floor operations utilizing the Up Keep App.
  • Collaborate with production staff to resolve outstanding issues related to general machinery and facility upkeep.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of preventive maintenance tasks as necessary.
  • Work in tandem with the production scheduler to ensure project scope and alignment.
  • Confirm that all projects are equipped with the necessary materials, tools, and equipment prior to initiation.
  • Establish and maintain a mobile cart for all essential tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Take on various roles within the production process as directed by management during urgent situations.
  • Conduct audits on maintenance and cleanliness, addressing any issues that arise, including waste management.
  • Perform additional minor maintenance tasks within the facility, pending managerial approval.
  • Ensure a safe working environment throughout all projects and during clean-up operations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of addressing practical issues and interpreting instructions.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Internet Explorer, Up Keep, and M2M systems.
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma with four to six years of relevant experience or training.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Experience with cutting torches, hand tools, welders, power saws, and other machinery.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read basic prints and drawings, analyze data, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate.
  • Required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to sit and lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving mechanical components, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and outdoor conditions.
  • Typically loud noise levels in the work environment.
