We are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to collaborate closely with the Division Manager, Procurement Director, and Branch Managers. This role involves assessing, refining, and spearheading our purchasing strategies. Key responsibilities include optimizing material flow, establishing supplier evaluation criteria, and implementing cost reduction strategies. The position also entails analyzing commodity price trends and their effects on product pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate both long-term and short-term agreements with suppliers.
  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers for current and future needs.
  • Facilitate intercompany transactions and branch transfers.
  • Request pricing and delivery quotes from vendors as needed by the Sales team.
  • Negotiate vendor pricing and payment terms.
  • Understand essential supplier criteria, including contract pricing and lead times.
  • Ensure adherence to supplier order acknowledgment procedures.
  • Process purchase orders with approved suppliers based on requests and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the Buying team and branch managers on purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and related documents.
  • Work with sales and branch management to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Review inventory levels and utilize ERP systems for material requirement evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with customer service and branch personnel regarding order statuses.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team on supplier-related issues.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and assist in developing processes for inventory management.
  • Monitor supplier performance and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and risk assessments.
  • Apply value analysis to supplier developments and improvements.
  • Work with the Quality Department to address supplier quality issues.
  • Meet customer delivery requirements consistently.
  • Collaborate with project management to achieve inventory goals.
  • Participate in the ongoing improvement of company processes and safety compliance.
  • Foster a positive workplace environment and promote team morale.
  • Adhere to safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong action orientation, time management, and customer focus.

  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in an ERP or MRP environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of rigging hardware and related products is preferred.

Work Environment:

The role requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods and traverse the production facility. The position may involve minimal travel, less than 10%. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity.
