Job Summary

The Associate Director, Debt is a key member of the Debt & Treasury team at Boston University, responsible for managing the University's debt programs. This position requires a strong understanding of financial markets, debt management, and analytical skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor and evaluate the University's debt portfolio, engaging with investment banks, rating agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Create debt presentations for Trustee meeting materials and update financial analysis materials for regularly occurring reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure the allocation of debt proceeds to individual projects aligns with the established funding plan.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the University's Debt management, including servicing of debt, monitoring and reporting interest rate risk, and validating the swap portfolio mark-to-market valuation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of Finance, Treasury, and Cash Management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience blending independent work and collaboration to ensure effective debt management and compliance with institutional objectives.
  • Advanced skills utilizing Excel, including complex formulas to acquire, organize, and analyze data.
  • Experience in other data management and reporting tools is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Public accounting or experience within a higher education institution.
  • Experience with ERP/SAP.
