Job Summary

Amerant Bank is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Banking Relationship Manager IV to join our team. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for maximizing share of wallet and products penetration, promoting and cross-selling products and services, and developing new relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of high-quality, complex corporate relationships.
  • Manage complex commercial loans, including asset-based loans, local participations, insured receivables financing, EX-IM, and other foreign risk mitigation.
  • Cross-sell other bank products to maximize customer relationships.
  • Know and increase the Share of Wallet of a customer to retain them and keep them engaged.
  • Actively participate in outside calling programs and networking events to promote the bank's image and develop new business relationships.
  • Refer business to other business units and follow up on outstanding exceptions.
  • Exercise prudent judgment in authorizing overdrafts and uncollected funds.
  • Maintain active contact with the client base, meeting at least quarterly at their place of business.
  • Maintain a current credit file and work with credit services to ensure contact memoranda are up to date.
  • Support the bank's CRA lending efforts and participate in non-profit organizations.
  • Assist junior officers in the department with credit relationship analysis and prepare packages for loan committee presentations.
  • Communicate credit requests to customers and prospects and review depository activity to ensure compliance with BSA.
  • Ensure preventive measures are carried out to comply with current rules, regulations, and internal policies related to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, and other AML issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, banking, finance, or accounting.
  • 10 years of experience as a commercial lending officer, managing complex and diversified lending relationships.
  • Experience in asset-based lending and trade-related lending is required.
  • Successful track record of business development and sales and negotiation skills.
  • MS Office skills, including advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Banking regulations applicable to lending, cash flow analysis, and functional skills such as report writing and effective presentation skills.
