Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Manager to oversee the progress of our projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that project scope fits the budget and that staff completes each project phase within the scheduled timeline.

This role is initially remote and will transition to a hybrid position after our new facility in the San Antonio area opens.

Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Review and assess vendor proposals, manage multiple parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.
  • Scheduling: Set up projects in our PE system, establish PE fabrication schedules and objectives.
  • Communication: Coordinate subcontractors, communicate progress towards production, financial, quality, and safety goals to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate change orders, establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Oversee process improvements in projects likely to have few precedents and may have an enterprise-wide impact.
  • Vendor Management: Monitor/manage vendors and vendor relationships.
  • Reporting: Prepare, present, and distribute project and program information to various groups, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Resource Management: Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning, and manage software and hardware availability.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Ten years of general and five years of project management experience in the structural steel industry – commercial fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • MS Office.
  • Comfortable with remote work scenario.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AISC Manual of Steel Construction knowledge.
  • Construction codes and practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with FabSuite and Tekla preferred.
  • Tekla Structures, Tekla EPM, and Trimble Connect software is a plus.

Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
