Job Summary

The role of Digital Literacy Instructor is crucial in our fast-paced workforce development training program. You will be responsible for teaching students fundamental digital literacy concepts, covering essential skills and technologies used in today's job market. As an instructor, your main task will be to deliver our comprehensive digital literacy curriculum to meet the needs of the program participants. Additionally, you will assist with hands-on learning strategies, assess student progress, and provide supportive guidance to enhance their digital skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction on various digital literacy topics, including basic computer skills, internet navigation, online safety, email usage, productivity software, digital collaboration, online research, and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences to improve students' digital literacy skills.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure curriculum alignment and provide input on enhancements.

Customer Service and Classroom Support

  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Determine and submit grades according to policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and identify students needing extra support.
  • Foster a culture of respect and inclusion for all.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, attendance, and professionalism.
  • Take on additional responsibilities to contribute to student success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of teaching or instructional experience.
  • Strong focus on digital literacy skills and instructional methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in teaching digital literacy and related areas such as Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, or IC3 Certification.

Additional Information

  • State Motor Vehicle License or ability to gain access to work sites.
