Position Title:
Sustainable Energy Construction Engineer

Collaborate closely with the Director of Energy & Environment or a Construction Manager to assist in the planning and oversight of construction initiatives focused on energy efficiency, renewable technologies, and district energy systems. Utilize effective communication, scope definition, cost estimation, negotiation, scheduling, monitoring, subcontractor management, documentation control, and financial forecasting to ensure project success.

Lead multidisciplinary teams of professionals to guarantee timely and budget-compliant project completion.

Engage with engineers, architects, and other specialists to establish and fulfill project specifications.
Partner with pre-construction and energy engineering teams to define design-build conceptual scopes aimed at maximizing energy efficiency and resource utilization.

Develop and compile both conceptual and detailed estimates for general contracting services (subcontractor scopes) using industry-standard estimating manuals and practices.

Assist in the preparation of project budgets and proposals (scope letters).
Monitor, forecast, and report on labor hours and all associated project expenses.
Procure major equipment and subcontractor services.
Create, manage, and execute comprehensive project schedules.

Contribute to the development of energy models and perform life cycle cost analyses.

Demonstrate a strong understanding of various construction methodologies and procedures.
Proficient in advanced computer applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).

Preferred familiarity with AutoCAD, Solid Works, Smartsheet, Viewpoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Office 365, SharePoint, Revizto, Quick-Pen, EstMEP, Blue Beam (Adobe), Navisworks, and various IoT applications.

A degree in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
A minimum of two years' experience in a general contracting role (manager/estimator/MEP) with an emphasis on commercial, industrial, and federal projects is preferred.
Certifications such as Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) are advantageous.
