Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water/Wastewater Senior Engineering Technician to join our team at Remington & Vernick Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on planning, designing, and analyzing projects related to water mains, sanitary mains, pumping stations, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and layout of structures to ensure efficient and safe water and wastewater systems.
  • Collaborate with a team to produce high-quality correspondence, reports, and biddable documents for water distribution systems, wastewater conveyance systems, treatment plants, potable wells, water storage tanks, and water and sanitary pumping stations.
  • Provide engineering support to our inspection department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Identify and address problems/issues proactively, with a focus on effective resolution and timely completion of assignments.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to produce regulatory permitting applications.
Requirements
  • EIT certification preferred, with a strong commitment to pursuing PE certification.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to clarify complex ideas and express thoughts concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and mutual support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on identifying and addressing issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • AutoCAD capability a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Certifications and Licenses
  • EIT or preparing to take and working towards PE certification.
Physical Demands and Working Environment

The Water/Wastewater Senior Engineering Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and may involve working in the field and exposure to outside weather conditions.
