Job Summary:
The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with minimal disruption to guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on hotel equipment, including air conditioning systems, boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
- Take regular readings on equipment to monitor performance and identify potential issues.
- Test and maintain cooling towers, swimming pools, and spas.
- Replace and repair televisions, light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Perform furniture repair and replacement.
- Repair and replace pumps, plumbing fixtures, and water lines.
- Understand and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and repair electrical issues.
- Assist in supervising other engineering staff members and scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of experience in a hotel or related field.
- At least two years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Trade school and/or College coursework in a related field preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and guests.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including long hours, and maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
