Electrical Project Engineer

Our client, a leading chemical plant, is seeking a skilled contract Engineer to assist with the final phases of construction of the production unit. As a Project Engineer - Electrical, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of production, process, and plant engineers, as well as mechanical and electrical resources.
This role involves overseeing the installation and startup of electrically powered equipment, such as pumps, agitators, centrifuges, and fans, as well as chemical processing instrumentation. You will work closely with Contractors to solicit and review proposals, award contracts, and act as the project engineer for discrete tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper selection and installation of electrical components in electrically classified areas.
- Supervise the installation of process control systems, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication networks.
- Collaborate with Contractors and ResinTech employees to plan, install, troubleshoot, repair, test, calibrate, and optimize electrical and process control systems.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and pre-startup safety reviews to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with the commissioning of new chemical production units, including water testing, electrical/process control equipment adjustment, and startup involving flammable or reactive chemicals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical preferred).
- Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering within chemical processing or similar industries.
- Hands-on experience with installation in electrically classified areas (Class 1 Div 1 and Div 2).
- Familiarity with process control systems and related components.
- Strong ability to work with contractors, manage proposals, and lead project work.
- Preferred experience in commissioning chemical production units and conducting safety reviews.
