Revolutionize Image Capture with Glass Imaging

We're on a mission to transform the way people capture images. As an Image Quality Engineer / Lab Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the visual performance of our products, working on the practical side of image collection, organization, testing, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in rigorous quality assessments of new features and algorithms in laboratory settings and real-world environments.
  • Develop image evaluation workflows, processes, and documentation to measure the progress of image processing over time and across platforms.
  • Engage actively in the evaluation and development of core image processing methods.
  • Provide impactful feedback directly to our engineering teams based on your evaluations.
  • Manage image data collection labs and work closely with machine learning engineers to generate and organize new datasets.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Art, or Film.
  • Experience in photography or videography, with a keen artistic and technical eye.
  • Practical skills in photo and video editing software such as Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar tools.
  • Experience programming in Python.
  • Able to technically analyze image quality from test captures, assess artifacts, compare and contrast typical degradations, and effectively rank large sets of captures.
  • Possess a strong grasp of historical and future trends in image capture and processing.
  • Proficient understanding of traditional camera pipelines and digital imaging processes, including HDR, image fusion, and low light imaging.
  • Experience with camera lab equipment, lighting, etc., and familiarity with standard camera system operations in a testing environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct photographic field tests with fixed and dynamic scenes, test charts, and real-world edge case testing and analysis.
  • Understanding of typical camera ISP blocks (3A, AWB, noise reduction, sharpening, etc.); experience with tuning of camera ISP pipelines.
  • Understanding of human visual perception, color science, optics, and camera testing methods.
  • Scripting with Python, Bash, Linux/OSX command line utilities, etc., for automation of metadata processing, file organization, and naming, format conversion, etc., and basic data analysis.
  • Experience with simple Python image processing libraries, e.g., for automating image pre-processing.
  • Experience with mobile app development (iOS/Android).
  • Experience with microcontrollers, interfacing with Raspberry Pi for lab automation.
  • Familiarity with fundamentals of digital signal & image processing, computer graphics, computer vision, machine learning, or computational photography.
