KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate provider schedules and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Support healthcare providers in delivering patient care by:
  • Preparing examination rooms and welcoming patients.
  • Maintaining data registries and ensuring compliance with Meaningful Use standards.
  • Conducting medication reconciliation for straightforward medication lists.
  • Measuring vital signs and patient weight.
  • Executing point-of-care tests as instructed by the provider.
  • Performing screenings in accordance with provider protocols.
  • Assisting healthcare providers during clinical procedures.
  • Administering injections and immunizations as per provider directives.
  • Entering patient care orders following provider documentation in patient records.
  • Accurately documenting all clinical information in the patient's electronic health record (EHR).
  • Managing patient communications with provider oversight.
  • Preparing patient records prior to scheduled visits following provider guidelines.
  • Processing medication refills in accordance with established protocols and provider approval.
  • Organizing, stocking, and sanitizing examination rooms, while ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Upholding a safe and infection-controlled clinical environment.
  • Maintaining clinical equipment through regular checks, calibration, cleaning, and repairs.
  • Overseeing point-of-care testing supplies.
  • Managing inventory and ordering of clinical and administrative supplies.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of vaccine supplies; ordering as necessary.
  • Documenting all vaccine records accurately.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks, which may include:
  • Collecting lab and x-ray reports.
  • Gathering hospital notes.
  • Acquiring referral information.
  • Completing necessary forms and requisitions.
  • Coordinating with InterMed colleagues and vendors for necessary sign-offs.
  • Exhibiting excellent professional judgment, communication skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Collaborating effectively with all team members.
  • Demonstrating initiative, accountability, and adaptability.
  • Prioritizing and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and compliance in all patient care activities.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and education.
  • Meeting InterMed clinical competence expectations with the provider.
  • Participating in special projects as assigned by leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS

Medical Assistant:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, preferably an Associate's Degree; current CMA or RMA certification, or must obtain within 6 weeks of hire.
Registered Nurse:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse licensure in the state of Maine.
General Requirements:
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Proficiency in Windows applications; experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
COMPENSATION:
  • Medical Assistant: Pay range between $26.05 and $28.78 per hour based on years of experience.
  • Registered Nurse: Pay range between $36.06 and $39.83 per hour based on years of experience.
SCHEDULE:

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 36 to 40 hours per week with minimal weekend requirements.
